Financial assistance for families

At Baby Lives, our micro-crèche operates through family contributions, without operating subsidies. However, you can benefit from financial assistance to reduce the cost of your child's childcare.

🔍 What is the CMG?

The CMG (Complément de libre choix du Mode de garde) is a financial assistance program from the French CAF (Caisse d'Allocations Familiales). It helps families cover the costs of childcare services, such as micro-crèches, based on their income, the number of children, and the type of childcare chosen. This benefit aims to make childcare more affordable for parents.

✅ What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible for the Complement of Free Choice of Childcare (CMG), the following conditions generally apply:

1️⃣ Parental Employment: One or both parents must be working or actively seeking employment.

2️⃣ Age of the Child: The child must be under 6 years old.

3️⃣ Childcare Provider: The childcare must be provided by a registered or approved service (e.g., a micro-crèche, childminder, or nursery).

4️⃣ Income Limits: Your eligibility and the amount of CMG depend on your household income. Lower-income families generally receive a higher amount of support.

5️⃣ Residency: The family must be living in France and must meet the criteria set by the CAF or MSA.

Each case can be slightly different, so it's always a good idea to check with the CAF or MSA to determine specific eligibility based on your situation.

💰 What is the amount of the aid?

The amount of the Complementary Free Choice of Childcare (CMG) varies based on income and family situation. The CAF covers part of the childcare costs, with a minimum out-of-pocket expense of 15% for the family.

📌 How to apply?

  • Visit the CAF or MSA website to carry out a simulation and submit your application online.
  • Provide the required documents, such as: Micro-crèche certificate Income Information about the child
  • Once the application is approved, the aid will be paid directly into your account each month.

At Baby Lives, we support you with your procedures to make your daily life easier!

Tax credit: an additional aid to reduce your childcare costs

In addition to the help from the CAF (CMG), families can benefit from a tax credit for childcare in a micro-crèche. This tax advantage allows you to recover 50% of the expenses incurred (after deducting the received aids), up to a limit of €3,500 per year per child, which means a tax credit of up to €1,750.

📌 How to benefit from it?

  • Declare your childcare expenses on your income tax return, by entering the amount paid after deducting the CMG (Supplementary Childcare Benefit).
  • The micro-crèche will provide you with a tax certificate specifying the amounts paid over the year.
  • The tax credit will reduce the amount of your tax or will be refunded if you are not taxable.
